We must pay attention to these when choosing a printing mesh
The structure/strength of the screen, two types of mesh are often used in modern screen printing: multi-fiber mesh and single-fiber screen printing materials and equipment screens are also more elaborate. Intermediate grade filaments are critical in the electronics industry.
The multi-fiber mesh structure is mainly used for coarse mesh, which has the lowest dimensional stability and the worst ability to print fine layers. This screen printing mesh can be used to make durable, sturdy screens for filtration. The multi-fiber structured screen has excellent adhesion to emulsions and capillary photographic films. It has been successfully used with direct/indirect film before the more stable material has yet to appear. However, the screen of this structure makes cleaning and recycling difficult.
Single fiber mesh has a variety of mesh diameters. In general, the thicker the wire diameter, the stronger the strength of the screen. The difference in structure is as shown. In some applications, large meshes and high mesh counts are combined, and twill weave is required to achieve satisfactory results. Twill weave is sometimes the best choice because it is strong and strong. These screens are not suitable for four-color printing because the substrate contact and mesh interference are more, however, because of their durability, they are suitable for heavy industrial applications and textiles.
The finest polyester mesh is used for the highest mesh size. The thinner the mesh, the larger the mesh and the finer the mesh. There is a great deal of research and development devoted to making ultra-fine meshes stronger and more stable. The thinner the screen, the thinner the ink layer. In order to obtain a thinner ink layer, one side of the polyester mesh can be calendered with heat. This process makes the screen thinner and the surface very smooth, which makes the screen suitable for coating clear coatings because it reduces the consumption of clear coatings and reduces costs.
Nylon mesh is suitable for making screens for printing complex surfaces or containers. Nylon is more extensible than polyester and can accommodate rough, uneven or rounded surfaces. However, its properties make it unsuitable for most applications requiring dimensional stability and low elongation.
Stainless steel wire has the highest strength to meet the requirements of the wire diameter, so it is suitable for fine printing. Fine printing requires precise coverage of the ink and good dimensional stability for better registration.
