Do You Know The Terminology Of Stainless Steel Mesh?
Common stainless steel weaving wire mesh detection and calculation terms : mesh, density, wire diameter, wire number, aperture, thickness, opening, opening ratio, net weight, cost accounting, etc.
1.The mesh number of the screen:the number of meshes (holes) in the length of -inch (25.4 mm). Inches are the inch units of measurement used to measure the mesh size of wire mesh products. The mesh number of the screen is expressed in holes/inch or line/inch. The mesh number generally indicates the degree of density between the wire and mesh of the polyester mesh. The higher the mesh, the denser the mesh and the smaller the mesh; conversely, the lower the mesh, the thinner the mesh, the larger the mesh, such as 150 mesh/inch, have 150 silky in 1 inch.
(1) Density of the screen: The original concept refers to the number of nets per unit length, which is the amount indicating the density of the mesh, and the mesh number refers to the mesh per unit length (usually referred to as one inch length). The number is the amount indicating the degree of mesh density. Both are numerically equal and can reflect the density of the screen. Therefore, the "density" of the screen sometimes refers to the "mesh" of the screen.
For example: industrial screen, also known as metal woven square hole screen, the mesh shape is square, the warp density and the latitudinal density are the same, this density is the mesh number of the industrial screen. Some non-industrial screens, such as stainless steel mesh nets and some large electric welded fence nets (such as frame fence nets), have mesh shapes that are rectangular. In this case, the concept of mesh number must be divided into The two concepts of "mesh" and latitude "mesh" are expressed as warp density and latitudinal density, respectively. At this time, the concepts of warp density and latitudinal density are different, and the values are also different.
(2) Measurement method: How many meshes are in the length of one inch? For the case where the mesh is large and the human eye can directly discern the mesh, the ruler is placed on the surface of the screen with a ruler, and how many holes or how many wires are in the length of 25.4 mm, which is the number of eyes.
When the mesh is small and the human eye cannot distinguish the mesh, it can be measured by a special tool (measurement tool) such as a mesh eyepiece (also known as a warp and weft density meter).
2. Wire diameter and aperture: The wire diameter refers to the diameter of the wire (the cross section of the wire is round). When testing, commonly used "mm", silk number ("#") or "wire" as a unit. Aperture refers to the length of a square mesh (a typical mesh, such as a mesh of an industrial mesh). In the detection of woven screens, "cm" or "mm" is commonly used as a unit. The size of the wire diameter is indicated by d, and the size of the pore diameter is indicated by w. For the measurement of the wire diameter, the micrometer is used to measure the aperture. When the mesh is large, the scale and the vernier caliper are used. When the mesh is small (fine), the mesh and the wire diameter are measured by the instrument and then calculated.
