Stainless steel screen printing is very common in the industry: signage, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, keyboard manufacturing and many other industries. Stainless steel screen printing is now in use by a large number of customers. What are the performance requirements of many people when printing inks?
Maishi manufacturers who have used more than 30 years of advanced production experience tell us the performance requirements of the following stainless steel wire printing mesh inks.
1. Thixotropy. In the process of screen printing, it is a reversible phenomenon in which the ink becomes thick after a certain period of inactivity, the viscosity becomes large, becomes thinner after stirring, and the viscosity also becomes small. The smaller the thixotropy of the screen printing ink, the better. To eliminate this unfavorable factor, the ink should be thoroughly stirred before printing to return to normal and then printed.
2. Viscosity. Screen printing ink viscosity is between 4000 - 12000mPa·s. If the viscosity is too large, the ink will have poor wettability to the substrate, and it is difficult to transfer to the substrate through the screen, which makes printing difficult, and the ink is lacking in ink. If the viscosity is too small, the print will be enlarged, and the printed lines will be merged and become waste.
3. Yield value. The yield value refers to the boundary stress that applies a certain external force to the fluid, from elastic deformation to flow deformation, and is also the minimum stress that must be applied when the ink begins to laminar.
4. Plasticity. Plasticity refers to the property of being able to completely or partially retain its deformation after being deformed by an external force. Screen printing inks are thick suspension colloids between fluids and semi-solids, so they are both fluid and malleable.
5. Fineness. The fineness of screen printing inks is generally between 15 and 45 μm. The fineness is too large, and a paste is produced in the printing, and no pattern can be printed. If the screen is thicker, the fineness can be increased accordingly. Generally, the coarsest particles should be less than a quarter of the mesh area.
6. Surface tension. The surface tension of the ink is made equal to or smaller than the surface tension of the printing surface to maintain a good printing effect.
7. Viscoelasticity. Viscoelasticity refers to the performance of the ink being sheared and broken by the pressure of the squeegee, and the screen plate bounces and the ink rebounds rapidly. The ink and the substrate are bonded, and the screen is detached, and the phenomenon of rapid retraction occurs.
8. Light resistance. It refers to the degree to which the ink blot is stable under sunlight. It depends on the light resistance of the pigment, the thickness of the ink layer, the properties of the binder and the filler.
The above is about the performance requirements of stainless steel wire printing meshs for printing inks. When paying attention to stainless steel screen printing, it is necessary to pay attention to the need for regular quality manufacturers to order production. Otherwise, the quality of the print cannot be guaranteed. Affect the sales of products.
