If there are dust, oil and other objects on surface of the screen, it will seriously affect combination of the screen and the sensitive adhesive, resulting in the quality of screen printing plate.
In order to ensure the close combination of the screen and the sensitive adhesive,we must clean the mesh before coating sensitive adhesive.There are totally two methods: Physical Treatment and Chemical Treatment.
Physical Treatment:The purpose of this method is to polarize the surface of the screen to facilitate the combination of the screen to the sensitive.
This method is to use the pumice and silicone carbide to grind into powder to clean the screen by machine, the powder size must be below 20microns. After cleaning, washing the screen by water again and and dry it. And then it can be platemaking.
Chemical Treatment: This method is use the Phenol, cresol and phosphoric acid etchant to clean the screen before platemaking to make the screen surface rough, then reach to the purpose of perfect combination of the screen and the sensitive adhesive. But please pay more attention when cleaning as the Phenol, cresol and phosphoric acid etchant will damage the mesh easily.
Except of above two methods, we also can degrease the screen by Caustic, cleaning agents etc, it can effectively remove the oil, dust and other substances of screen surface, so that the screen and sensitive adhesive can be combined firmly. After cleaning, washing the screen by water again and dry it. And then it can be platemaking.
