Screen printing mesh inks have the characteristics of large consistency, low viscosity and moderate fluidity. The viscosity is usually controlled between 3 and 12 Pa·s. In this way, the ink can easily pass through the mesh under pressure to form a print, and the thickness of the ink film is between 8 and 30 μm. Screen ink has the characteristics of strong hiding power, good adhesion on the surface of the substrate, bright color and good gloss, but poor light resistance and abrasion resistance. In the printing process, the appropriate solvent can be selected to adjust the viscosity and fluidity of the ink. The oxidative polymerization drying type screen ink can be added with a desiccant in an appropriate amount to improve the drying property of the ink.
Printing mesh light resistance. It refers to the degree to which the ink blot is stable under sunlight. It depends on the light resistance of the pigment, the thickness of the ink layer, the properties of the binder and the filler. Packaging printing and outdoor advertising have high requirements on ink lightfastness. Outdoor advertising often requires 3 to 5 years, and there is no significant change in the color of printed products. Irradiation of light causes chemical (eg, oxidative or reduction) reactions and physical (crystal) changes in the pigment, causing the pigment to darken and fade to completely retreat.
