The professional grid size interpretation is measured by the number of grid lines per square inch of intersection. Each 110 mesh screen has 110 yarns per square inch of intersection.
The higher the number of grids, the finer the threads and holes are on the screen. The size of the grid has a lot to do with the level of detail of the image and the thickness of the ink used. If your image has extremely high detail, the lower grid screen will not maintain high detail. Thin lines or points in the image will simply pass through the holes in the grid and will not correctly represent what the image should be. In addition, if you are using thinner ink, the ink will spill over the larger holes and soak it on the shirt or substrate, making the image blur when the ink seeps out.
On the other hand, if you try to print thicker ink (such as white) onto a high-grid screen, there is almost no ink printed through the grid.
